Nothing like the sun to get everyone in a good mood. If you are like me, I am always so thankful to have another winter behind us. I hope you have a wonderful summer. After almost 4 years, I can finally say I feel settled in Indiana. Bill and I downsized into a ranch in a new neighborhood and have made some wonderful friends. We have a corner lot and sit on our patio almost nightly and it seems to be the gathering place. We always have an open bottle of wine to share. My youngest daughter Kaylin is getting married this October so we are in full planning stages. With the three grandsons and baseball starting up again, our weekends will be spent on the ball field this summer. I am still working full time as a senior project manager for a label and packaging company. Linda Wilce Marmer, M.S.’90 is planning a busy summer. In May, Linda and her husband Mike go to the nation’s largest model train show in York, Pa., where they will also go cycling on the rail trail that runs from York to the Maryland line. They will be spending one week cycling on the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail near Ohiopyle, Pa., and one week cycling on the Pine Creek Rail Trail in Wellsboro, Pa. In October, they will spend another two weeks cycling and hiking in and near Acadia National Park in Maine. They go to the Washington Nationals baseball home games on Sundays and fill in with Frederick Keys and other minor league teams. Linda is still working at Sodexo HQ in Gaithersburg on the culinary systems offer development team. She wishes everyone a great summer! Mary Thompson Calhoun has updated us on her amazing husband Calhoun who turned 105 in January. He has been enrolled in Boston University’s New England Centenarian Study. He is one of only 5,000 people in this country age 105 or older. They will be conducting research using his DNA which will be shared and used for decades to come in various Alzheimer’s and other academic studies of age-related illnesses and conditions. Her husband may be a living Fountain of Youth! Leigh Moomaw McBride sent a note about her busy life as a grandma. Spending time in Connecticut with her daughter’s family and her granddaughter Grace and babysitting her son’s family and grandson Levi who will be a big brother come November. Her family keeps growing. She loves the freedom to visit with the kids and travel when she wants as well as play some golf, workout and read. Stephanie Constantino Chisolm just spent some time with Lisa Kondylas up in Baltimore where she was working on a home renovation. She is a “mom-lord” having bought a cute row house that her middle daughter Kate is renting. She became a mother-in-law last fall when Claire, her oldest got married, and welcomed her baby Caroline home from her studies at Oxford. She takes great pleasure in having such great young women in her life. Congratulations to Ken Kerr who has a new position at Frederick Community College as AVP for Academic Affairs/ Dean of Arts and Sciences. Becky Koose Levine shared some exciting news that her son Isaac will be getting married in Baltimore this August. She is looking forward to, at long last, having a daughter. Isaac is finishing up his pre-med requirements at Rutgers. Becky and her husband Yehuda bought their retirement home in Milwaukee and have been spending a lot of time there. The wedding and related festivities will be keeping them busy through the summer. Congratulations to Luther Jett who wrote to say his chapbook of poetry, Not Quite: Poems Written in Search of My Father will be published this summer by Finishing Line Press.
