Since I only got two updates from classmates, I decided to simply allow their words to fill everyone in on their activities.

Chrysti Hogan and her wife, Jeanne, took a TransCanada rail trip from Vancouver to Toronto this past summer and enjoyed traveling through the Canadian Rockies, seeing the wide open plains and getting to take a helicopter ride over Niagra Falls!  This month, they are renovating the master bathroom in their house, and are beginning to make plans for next summer’s trip.  They may try to work a stop in Frederick for the reunion into the itinerary!

Mari Padilla Spina shared that this year has been one of adjustment for her as she sent her first born Alexa off to Providence College. How the time flies. Her son Nicholas is 14 and a freshmen in high school. He is her athlete so keeps them busy while Alexa is away. She is still working in the insurance Industry doing medical malpractice from home which is a very nice fit for her. This year her annual gathering was hosted by Gina Oliveros ’86 in her beautiful home in Ft Lauderdale! Gina’s son is a sophomore in college and her daughter is a senior in HS. Gina continues to travel with her husband internationally any chance she gets.  In attendance were Maritza Bido ’86, Lucy DeBrosse Ment ’86, Nanette Rosario Sanchez ’86,  Khateeta Emerson, Kim Burns ’87,  Maribel Martinez ’87, and Mari. they spent a very relaxing day being pampered all day at a day spa followed by many fun dinners and an incredible brunch prepared by Gina and Maritza. They all look so forward to this gathering and it is amazing how after 30 years they manage to pick up right where they left off and walk away from the weekend feeling completely rejuvenated! Can’t wait for the 30th reunion as we all head to Frederick to celebrate where this lifetime friendship began. Everyone is looking forward to seeing as many of our classmates as possible!

As for me, I am learning how to be an empty-nest mom.  I still work in the wine industry (Boordy Vineyards and Opici Family Distributors) and pen two blogs (www.fromthebottomofawinebottle.wordpress.com and www.beatitudesofmylife.wordpress.com).  Both my boys are employed and  dating wonderful women, so our lives are coming around full circle.  I’m very much looking forward to our 30th reunion and will set up a reunion FB page as soon as possible so we can start reaching out to classmates and friends!  I’ll post the address on my FB page as soon as I can get things set up.
